The Sunshine Open is a great tennis tournament held in Kamloops the second weekend in August. The tournament is hosted at the Kamloops Tennis Association club and on some of the fine Kamloops public tennis courts (all the courts I visited were US open surfacing).

This is a power packed weekend of tennis with two levels of singles, doubles and mixed doubles categories. If you enter two events you are sure to play anywhere from 6 to 8 two set matches and if you advance from your box some additional best out of three matches. This is a huge tennis weekend.

It is important to bring plenty of fluids and sunscreen as a couple of the years I went to this tournament they had 40 degrees celsius temperatures.

Hosted by the fine people of the Kamloops Tennis Club this one is a must.
