The Metro Basketball League is expanding and kicking off it's fifth season at the iconic Richmond Olympic Oval this fall. Starting Monday nights on September 27, 2010 - both men's and women's division 1 and 2 will play on NBA style hardwood courts. Metro looks to provide the very best athlete experience in a recreational league. All registered teams will receive official Metro League uniforms, professional action shots, and prizes throughout the season.

The 2nd Annual West Coast Basketball Classic takes centre court at the Richmond...
Sponsored by Firstar and Vitamin Water, your registration will include official West Coast Classic game-jerseys, Vitamin Water to replenish you after you sweat it out on the court, live tunes from our in-house DJ Steady Eddy, ankle-taping and massage, a player’s lounge and a ton more.
This year the 2010 event will feature a high flying slam dunk competition and sharp shooting 3 point shoot out. Don’t have a team to run with? No worries…open gym will be available before the tournament, register as an individual and we’ll set you up.

Saturday, August 14th, 2010 from 10am to 6pm
The summer season will begin in a few months...either June or July and our team as usual is looking for 1 or 2 strong post players (5'10 or taller preferred... to guard 6'1 players), 1-2 strong 3 point shooters with an intermediate to advanced skill level. We have 2-4 spots to fill with players who are looking to play long term and who mesh well with the rest of us. Must...
Where: Strathcona Community Centre
When: Thursday evenings
Time: games are either 6pm, 7:30 or 9pm
Skill level: Intermediate/Advanced (can get very competitive) - a few ex university players, a handful of ex-college players, everyone else played at competitive high school level
Teams: there is usually 5-7 teams
Seasons: there are 3 seasons...fall/winter, winter/spring and a short summer season.
Cost: TBD - about $40 per person depending on # of people on the team
Our team: fun, friendly yet competitive group of gals who play well with each other and are very team oriented (there are no "me" players). Also, our team ranges in age from early 20's to late 30's...so age is not really an issue.
