The summer season will begin in a few months...either June or July and our team as usual is looking for 1 or 2 strong post players (5'10 or taller preferred... to guard 6'1 players), 1-2 strong 3 point shooters with an intermediate to advanced skill level. We have 2-4 spots to fill with players who are looking to play long term and who mesh well with the rest of us. Must...
Where: Strathcona Community Centre
When: Thursday evenings
Time: games are either 6pm, 7:30 or 9pm
Skill level: Intermediate/Advanced (can get very competitive) - a few ex university players, a handful of ex-college players, everyone else played at competitive high school level
Teams: there is usually 5-7 teams
Seasons: there are 3 seasons...fall/winter, winter/spring and a short summer season.
Cost: TBD - about $40 per person depending on # of people on the team
Our team: fun, friendly yet competitive group of gals who play well with each other and are very team oriented (there are no "me" players). Also, our team ranges in age from early 20's to late 30's...so age is not really an issue.

Good News: due to large demand and a full Wednesday program, a new Thursday slot has been opened. Get some exercise and have fun playing basketball on a pick-up basis. Games start at 6:30 sharp. Registered players must arrive on time to ensure their spot. Both registered players and drop-in players must sign-in at reception. Maximum of 20 players.

Newly surfaced in hot colours this court is open from the May long weekend through the Labour day weekend. The court is now plexipaved in purple, light blue with red maple leafs and the "Kits Beach" logo is in yellow. The improvements are a result of the efforts of two former National team players, Howard Kelsey and Ron Putzi. The court is spectacularly set on Kits Beach with the North Shore mountains in the backdrop Kits Beach is known around the world as one of the places to play outdoor ball. Please note players are asked to respect the residents by observing all park bylaws.

On Granville Island by the False Creek Community Centre. This court was converted from the third of the tennis courts on Granville Island. The court has break-away rims, glass backboards, lights, and is well protected from the wind. As well you have the nice back drop of Alder Bay behind the court....
