SportMedBC is the umbrella organization for sport medical, paramedical and scientific activities in British Columbia. Founded as a non-profit organization in 1982, and headquartered in Burnaby at the 8 rinks sport centre, SportMedBC develops, promotes, and administers a wide variety of educational programs, resources and services for the provincial sport, recreation and fitness communities. SportMedBC's focus is to optimize safe and healthful participation in sport, recreation and leisure activities. Specifically in the case of the PacificSport Group, SportMedBC acts as the coordinator of science and medicine programming. SportMedBC programs and services are provided by highly qualified and trained professionals in their respective fields of sport medicine and sport science.
