Langley Volunteer Fair

Volunteer Langley is hosting its first annual Volunteer Fair!  Have you ever thought about volunteering but didn’t know where to go, or where to start?

Please join us for this unique opportunity to meet and talk with representatives from over 25 local organizations that depend on the services of volunteers.  Meet groups including:

...of Langley and the Downtown Langley Ambassadors

-  Langley Emergency Programs
-  Local events including the Aldergrove Fair Days, BC Renaissance Festival, and the Langley International Festival

EIDAN is the JCCGV's Youth Movement led by graduates of the EIDAN School of Madrichim.
EIDAN encompasses children's group activities (peulot) while inspiring Jewish Journeys and social ties within the movement and beyond into our community.
EIDAN includes informal education, physical activity, and creative arts fostering Jewish identity and a strong connection to Israel.

What is a Youth Movement?
A youth movement allows children and youth to reach their full potential in a healthy, social, purposeful, fun and thoughtful setting. Without involvement in a youth movement, children and youth miss out on growing together while learning useful tools which cultivate involved community leaders and healthy adults.

EIDAN Grades 3-7
Join us for group games, sports, drama, shira (singing) and much more.
Each grade is formed into its own group.

Program for grades 8 & 9

T - Tikun Olam (healing the world)
E - Environmental consciousness
V - Vancouver based
A - Amazing teens
TEVA teens will learn wilderness and survival skills necessary for safe camping & outdoor experiences
• fire building & knots
• weather and forecasting
• use and care of camping equipment
• emergency procedures and equipment
• hiking, paddling, biking skills
• trip planning, food, packing, camp site procedures
• navigation skills and map interpretation
• Minimal Impact Camping
• and loads more
TEVA teens will go on 3 camping trips where they will utilize the skills learned.
TEVA teens will enhance ecological intelligence within Judaism by immersing teens into structured activities to sensitize them to nature's rhythms. By doing so, we will genuinely repair the world (Tikun Olam), build community, foster personal growth and progress into a higher appreciation of our world while building social ties and commitment to global issues.
TEVA teens will participate in groups where they enhance their interpersonal skills to create an advanced sense of self awareness to be able to make decisions best for them when faced with "risky" issues, normal to the teen years.

SEASONS - Chinese Dance Performance

Feb 7th (Sat) @ Vancouver Playhouse

presented by Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad and Chinese Performing Arts Society of Canada

  • A two-hour Chinese dance performance that features a variety of dance styles including classical, folk, modern, and dancers from minority groups. These dances will be performed by the organization's most elite dancers.
  • Seasons not only emphasizes the cultural diversity of the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad but through the four seasons, it will lead the audience through the diverse forms of Chinese dance, providing them with a unique experience
