In the past year I have been introduced to acupuncture for various things I wanted to improve in my health. I was quite nervous on my first visit. I had always maintained acupuncture was not for me but my friend Tanya convinced me to try it for digestive problems and low energy.
On the first visit I experienced the physical sensation and an emotional sensation. Part way through I found myself laughing and then later I had a vision that I was in Hawaii in a small boat on the water with a girlfriend.
Since the first visit, the treatments have been therapeutic but not as emotional (although there is a great feeling of calm). Here is some information from thehealthpages.com.
Acupuncture goes back three thousand years, and involves inserting hair-thin surgical steel needles into selected acupuncture points in the body. This technique was developed in China. To learn how it works you must understand some of Chinese medicine. To put it quickly the Chinese believe that life is made up of two forces Yin(blood) and Yang(spirit) attracted by an energy called Qi (pronounce chi). Illness is a result of imbalance between Yin and Yang and the needles alter the energy to achieve balance.
